The National Art Honor Society at Prince Avenue Christian School recently presented a $2,000 donation to Mrs. Barbara Anderson of "A Bigger Vision" to support the organizations efforts to feed the hungry.
Members of the National Art Honor Society participated in this special ministry opportunity by creating pottery bowls and filling them with goodies to auction at the school as a part of the Empty Bowls program. The $2,000 was raised in the one-day auction.
Update: Sam Kennon placed second in the state Literary Meet in Extemporaneous Speaking. Ward Evans place fourth overall in the essay competition.
Prince Avenue Christian High School students competed in the GHSA Literary Meet at Rabun Gap on Tuesday, February 26. Sam Kennon placed second in the region in Extemporaneous Speaking competition and Ward Evans was second in Essay Writing. Both advance to the state meet.
Prince Avenue Christian School will host several Open Houses for Prospective Families in the next several months. Interested families can register to attend (though registration is not a requirement.)
The Open House events will be held on Thursday, January 17 at 9:00 am and 6:00 pm, Tuesday, February 12 at 9:00 am. and Tuesday, May 7 at 9:00 am. Information sessions will be held at 9:15 am in the Media Center, followed by campus tours. The evening information session on January 17 will be at 6:15 pm.
The Prince Avenue Christian School Academic Team defeated Lamar County in the WSB-TV High Q competition in early December. The contest was televised by WSB. Team members included captain and senior Marian Douglas, juniors John Butt and Grant Simpson, and sophomore Curry Cross.
In only its fourth year of academic competition, the varsity team advanced to the second round of the High Q tournament. They will compete against North Gwinnett High in another televised round on Saturday, March 2 at 12:30 pm.
Prince Avenue Christian School's reenrollment period begins on Monday, January 28. Families will receive reenrollment packets by email late next week.
Families who are in good financial standing may begin to reenroll on the 28th. The $200 reenrollment tuition deposit will be billed and paid through FACTS.
Many of our classes are at or near capacity, and it is vital that current families complete the reenrollment process by February 8 to secure your student(s) place in classes for the next school year. Open enrollment begins on February 11, 2013.
