Phil Roberts Named New PACS Varsity Baseball Coach

Prince Avenue Christian School Athletics Department has announced Phil Roberts as the new Head Varsity Baseball Coach for the Wolverines.  Roberts currently serves as the Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach of Strong Rock Christian School in Region 5-A where he has been since 2009.  Roberts comes to PACS with a career record of 126-76. He has twice been selected Athletic Director of the Year and has received the Region 5-A Sportsmanship Award for five consecutive years.

PACS Athletic Director Richard Ricketts expresses great enthusiasm for Roberts.  “I am very excited to have Phil Roberts joining the Prince staff.  Coach Roberts is a committed believer with a proven background in baseball and athletic administration.  I believe he will be able to come in and build a baseball program that will have success over a long period of time.”  Ricketts is also excited about the impact that Roberts will have on the youth athletic program at Prince.   “Phil has the desire and ability to strengthen the feeder baseball teams which will solidify our and strengthen our baseball program.”

Roberts himself is grateful for the opportunity that he and his family have to come to PACS.   “We’re excited about the opportunities at Prince Avenue Christian School. The school has a great reputation for athletics, academics, and missions within the state. The baseball staff has done an outstanding job developing talents and abilities, and I’m looking forward to leading this program for a long time.”

The PACS Baseball program has been showing great progress in recent years.  Last year the Wolverines posted a winning record making it to the first round of the State Play-Offs for the first time in many years. This season, the Wolverines finished as runner-up in the Region (22-11, 8-2 in Region) and made it to the second round of the State Play-Offs.

Roberts is from Washington, Georgia.  He has been married to his wife Amberly for ten years.  They have a four year old son, Hudson, who will be attending PACS beginning this Fall.  Roberts earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Clemson University and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Georgia Southern University.  He will be teaching High School History at PACS.
