Helping Hands Fight Hunger School-Wide Event and Fund Raiser
Click here to set-up your family Helping Hands Fight Hunger Web Page
Prince Avenue Christian School is sponsoring the Helping Hands Fight Hunger fundraising event. This initiative is similar to a walk-a-thon in which relatives, friends, and community contacts will financially sponsor students to raise money for PACS.
Helping Hands Fight Hunger is a unique approach to fund-raising. Instead of asking sponsors to contribute to walking or running laps, the activity for students in response to donations will be working together with their classmates, teachers, and parents to pack 10,000 meals which will be donated to the Northeast Georgia Food Bank.
The Helping Hands Fight Hunger event is sponsored by Akins Ford and supported by Chick-fil-A at Beechwood. The packing day will be held Friday, February 20th during school hours. All students will have the exciting opportunity to help pack the meals.
Families are asked to participate by setting up a simple family web page using this link. Families will then email or mail letters to friends, relatives, business associates, and community contacts asking them to be sponsors as students help to pack 10,000 meals. This letter will direct your contacts to your family web-page where they can then make an online tax deductible donation. If any donors wish to send a check rather than donate online, checks should be made payable to PACS and include the student’s name in the memo line. Checks can be turned in to the front office.
The money raised at this exciting event will be used in three ways. First, PACS will purchase the food and supplies for 10,000 meals to be donated to the Northeast Georgia Food Bank. Next, these funds will support PACS outreach projects in the community sponsored by PACS classes and clubs as well the international mission trip taken by the PACS senior class each year. Finally, these funds will be used to develop a much needed outdoor campus commons area in which faculty and students can spend time during the school day and for special events.
Families are encouraged to support PACS by participating in this exciting event. Questions can be directed to Kim Brannon, Director of Development, at knbrannon@princeave.org.
