Prince Avenue Christian School seeks to offer a firm academic foundation based on the truth of God’s word.

Beginning in preschool and continuing throughout each grade, the academic curriculum is purposefully taught through a Biblical worldview with a focus on a lifelong pursuit of God and His truth.

Prince Avenue teachers and staff encourage and disciple students throughout their educational experience. Weekly chapel gives students an opportunity to worship and to hear God’s word. Biblical integration is found in all aspects of the curriculum as students are building a foundational Christian worldview.

The Pre-Kindergarten curriculum begins with Bible, social and community awareness, fundamental math, and early reading instruction from a phonics and phonemic awareness base. As students transition into kindergarten and continue from 1st through 5th grades, reading instruction from a phonics approach continues and is expanded with an emphasis on exposure and exploration into literature and independent reading. Students’ spiritual foundation is strengthened as Bible is included as an academic subject and supplemented with a robust scripture memorization program. Science in the lower grades is taught from an inquiry-based approach following state of Georgia elementary science standards. Beginning in kindergarten and spanning through fifth-grade, students receive instruction and engage in exciting hands-on extension activities with our dedicated lower school science teacher in a generously-equipped lower school science lab. Also included in the lower school curriculum are enrichment classes including Art, Music, Spanish, and Computer Keyboarding. Daily interaction with Smart Boards, iPads, and classroom desktop computers helps students develop 21st-century skills that enable them to take advantage of the vast world of knowledge and interactive learning so prevalent in education today.
