PACS Middle School Girls Win First Place in Athens Area Basketball Tournament

After an undefeated season, the Prince Avenue Christian Middle School Girls’ Basketball Team won first place in The Athens Area Middle School Championship ending their season 22-0.  In addition to the first place title, eighth grader Madison Britt and seventh grader Sybille Foucart were named to the All-Tournament Team.  PACS was the only school with two players named to this team.  This year marks the third back to back to back title for the PACS Middle School Lady Wolverines and the fourth title in the league’s 8 year history. 

When asked about the success of this year’s team, Coach Michael Palmer described the team as the most unselfish middle school team to ever play basketball.  “I think the key to winning was not about the players on the court but the family we were to each other in the locker room.”  Along with this description of the girls’ close relationships, Palmer also said that the team did everything the Wolverine Way.  “They honored God, pursued excellence, and discipled others.  With these priorities in place, a team will experience success regardless of the plays or systems that they practice and implement.”
