Children Helping Children
There is enormous devastation in the midlands region of South Carolina due to the recent flooding in that state. Prince Avenue's first grade is taking leadership to help the children of Richland County District 5 in Columbia, and we are asking the Lower School students to help the needy school aged child in the District 5 area. Over 300 children in this district have lost their homes and all personal belongings.
Please donate any of the following new supplies, and have your student bring them to their homeroom by Tuesday, October 20. The first grade teachers and students will then sort the items, and Mrs. Padgett will deliver them to social workers at the District 5 shelter in South Carolina.
The following NEW items are greatly needed:
Toothpaste
Toothbrushes
Soap
Hair brushes and combs
Shampoo
Socks
Underwear
School supplies (pens, pencils, paper)
Sheets
Towels, washcloths
Pillows
Blankets
Bottled water and food are being supplied to these families through the Red Cross, local churches, and the National Guard of S.C.
Thank you for your support of this project. Your donations will be graciously appreciated.
