Norris Nominated for Military Academy
U.S. Congressman Jody Hice (GA-10) and Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson both nominated Prince Avenue Senior Forde Norris for an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point. This nomination is a step in the process of securing admission to West Point.
“It is my honor to offer my congratulations to these exceptional students who are among the best and brightest in the Tenth Congressional District,” said Congressman Hice. “These young men and women exemplify the highest attributes of character, scholarship, and patriotism and will go on to become the future leaders of America’s Armed Forces.”
Forde, the son of Tab and Elizabeth Norris, has attended Prince Avenue Christian School since . Throughout his high school career, Forde has accomplished honor roll status every semester also participating in the Beta Club and National Honor Society. In addition, Forde has received the DAR Good Citizen Award and the Rotary Student of the semester. Forde is active in the Interact Club, Young Life, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Forde has also been a strong contributor in athletics on both the football and track teams.
Forde attends Athens First United Methodist Church, and in his community service work operates “Wood for Warriors”, an LLC whose main objective is to raise money for wounded veterans by chopping, splitting, and delivering firewood to the community.
