Fine Arts Students and Director Recognized in Shuler Hensley Awards
Nominations have been announced for The Shuler Hensley Awards. Modeled after Broadway’s Tony Awards, The Shuler Hensley Awards celebrate excellence in high school musical theatre.
Prince Avenue Christian School’s Fine Arts department entered their production of Into the Woods for adjudication for the awards. The recognition of PACS students in The Shuler Hensley Awards are the first in the history of the school.
Senior Alex Harding was nominated for Best Performance by a Supporting Actor.
Emilie David, a freshman, received Honorable Mention for Best Performance by a Supporting Actress.
Thompson Sewell, a freshman, received Honorable Mention for Best Performance by a Leading Actor.
Prince Fine Arts Director LaMurl Morris received Honorable Mention for Music Direction.
In addition, freshman Riley Wilson and senior Nathan Anderson will represent PACS by performing in the opening number, and Sophomore Deven Desai will be part of the lighting design team.
The Shuler Awards ceremony will be held Thursday, April 20th at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center. The show will be broadcast live on Georgia Public Television at 7:00 pm.
