Padgett and Gilbert Selected as GISA Master Teachers
Two teachers from Prince Avenue Christian School were recently selected by the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) as Master Teachers. Second grade teacher Becky Padgett and high school math teacher Katie Gilbert were two of only twenty-five selected from over 166 GISA member schools and hundreds of applicants.
The selection process for Master Teacher is challenging and competitive. To be considered for the program, candidates are required to submit an application as well as a portfolio including three tangible examples of outstanding work related to the classroom and to sharing and collaborating with other educators. Among other requirements are an unedited video of the candidate's classroom teaching utilizing best practices and five letters of recommendation.
Mrs. Padgett and Mrs. Gilbert will be honored at two functions in Atlanta in November. One will be during the Annual GISA Conference at Marist School and the other at the Master Teacher Luncheon at Woodward Academy.
