Spring Teams Advance in State Tournaments
The Prince Avenue Girls Soccer Team made history when they won the 1st round of the GHSA Class A Private State Soccer Tournament advancing to the Sweet Sixteen. The Wolverines defeated the Landmark Christian War Eagles 5-2 with goals scored by Madison Britt (3) and Megan Garth (2). The girls will travel to Savannah, Georgia to play the #1 seed, Calvary Day School, on Tuesday, May 1st at 5:00 pm.
The Prince Boys Golf Team also had success by winning the Area 2 Tournament held at Jennings Mill Country Club with a team total of 301. Will Kahlstorf and Reid Baker each scored 73, Peyton Shedd scored 74, and Dallas Pettus added 81. Kahlstorf sank a 25-foot putt to defeat Baker in the playoff for low medalist. Prince Girls Golf finished fourth in the Area 2 Tournament with a 202. Hope Hewatt qualified for the state tournament with a score of 91, while Delaney Cook added a 111.
