Parrish Signs to Play Football at College Level
Prince senior Christian Parrish recently signed to play football at the college level with The United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS), which is collocated in West Point, New York. The purpose of USMAPS is to prepare cadet candidates for the rigors of the United States Military Academy by completing an intensive 10-month scholastic program. While at USMAPS, Christian will attend classes, wear a uniform, learn barracks protocol and procedures, and play football. Following a successful year of instruction at USMAPS, Christian will matriculate into West Point as a member of the class of 2024. After graduation, he will be commissioned a second lieutenant in the United States Army and serve five years on active duty as a commissioned officer.
Prince Head Football Coach Greg Vandagriff explains that the Army is an excellent choice for Parrish. “I could not imagine a better fit for Christian Parrish than Army. It is a win-win for both parties. They are receiving a top-notch, two-time all-state performer, and Christian is about to receive an education from one of the most prestigious schools in the country. He has represented Prince Avenue well, and I am more than positive that he will wear the colors of our country with pride.”
