Dr. Stephen Reel to Speak at Prince Graduation
Prince Avenue Christian School will hold the Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2019 on Saturday, May 18th at 10:00 am in the Prince Avenue Baptist Church Worship Center. Dr. Stephen Reel will give the charge to graduates.
Stephen Reel has served for over 30 years in Christian school ministry as a Bible teacher, school administrator, and adjunct professor. He is currently the Executive Vice President, Acting CEO for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Prior to his Christian school career, he served two tours of duty in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry sergeant, tactics instructor, marksmanship instructor, and competition shooter.
Dr. Reel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Bible from Columbia Bible College, a Master of Education in educational administration from Columbia International University, and an Educational Specialist and Doctor of Philosophy in educational administration from the University of South Carolina.
Stephen is the author of Clear Focus: Rediscovering the Most Important Aspect of Christian School Ministry (2015) which has also been published in Indonesian, Portuguese, and Spanish. Stephen and his wife and best friend of 34 years, Melanie, have three children, all Christian school graduates.
This year’s Prince senior class has 59 graduates 12 of which began their education at Prince in kindergarten. The 59 graduates were accepted to a collective 125 colleges and have been offered approximately $1,052,535.00 worth of scholarship money to attend college next year. 90 percent of this year’s seniors took Dual Enrollment college classes and already have a collective 837 hours of college hours completed which amounts to 279 college classes. 69 percent of this year’s seniors took a collective total of 82 AP classes. Many members of the Class of 2019 will begin college with almost enough hours to be classified as college sophomores.
75 percent of this year’s graduating class participated in the senior mission trip to Costa Rica. The class also includes accomplished musicians, performers, and artists, as well as nine athletes who signed to play at the college level.
Another highlight of the Prince graduation ceremony is the student speeches from the Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and Epistle Award winner as well as the class video that highlights each graduate and the Class of 2019 throughout their years at Prince Avenue.
