Eley Selected as Rotary Student of the Semester
Prince senior Erin Eley has been selected as the Rotary Student of the Semester chosen by teachers for her demonstration of the Rotary Club motto of “Service Above Self”.
Erin is the daughter of Kendall and Mandy Eley and has attended Prince Avenue for 12 years. Erin chose high school history teacher Karen Barrett to share this honor with her. Erin explains that Mrs. Barrett cares that her students succeed academically but also spiritually. “Mrs. Barrett makes difficult classes enjoyable through her caring and engaging demeanor.”
Mrs. Barrett describes teaching Erin as a highlight of her teaching career. “Erin has a keen intelligence which combined with her dedication as a student makes her extremely high achieving. She has a funny sense of humor and is a caring friend. I will miss her when she leaves PACS to start college.”
During her time at Prince, Erin has been in the National Honors Society serving as president, served as secretary and vice president of the Beta Club, and was a Homecoming Court representative her sophomore and senior years. Erin has also been involved in Varsity Girls Golf, Voices of Prince, Fine Arts productions, Tri-M Music Honors Society, and Interact Club. She is the secretary of the Class of 2021, a Barnabas student mentor, and leads a high school girls Bible study at PACS.
Erin attends Prince Avenue Baptist Church where she volunteers in the children’s ministry. She plans to attend either Georgia College and State University or the University of Georgia and study education.
