Prince Avenue Christian School has named the top award recipients of the Class of 2022.
The 2022 Valedictorian is Abby Weaver. Abby is the daughter of Chris and Tracy Weaver and has attended Prince for 11 years. Abby has earned the Wolverine Gold Academian Award for highest grade point average in her class each year of high school and is a University of Georgia Certificate of Merit award winner. She is a member of the National Honors Society, National Beta Club, Interact Club, and Tri-M Music Honor Society. While at Prince, Abby was a member of the Prince bands and ran with the cross country and track teams. Abby enjoys volunteering at summer camps and attends Prince Avenue Baptist Church where she volunteers serving coffee and helping in Vacation Bible School. Abby plans to attend Auburn University and major in chemical engineering.
The 2022 Salutatorian is Landys McClellan. Landys is the daughter of Kirk and Kim McClellan and has attended Prince for 13 years. Landys has earned the Wolverine Silver Academian Award for second highest grade point average in her class each year of high school, is a University of Georgia Certificate of Merit award winner, and was selected as Rotary Student of the Semester. She is a member of the National Honors Society, National Beta Club, National Art Honors Society, and Interact Club. Landys was also a member of the varsity soccer team. Landys attends Prince Avenue Baptist Church where she enjoys serving in the church nursery. Landys plans to attend the University of Georgia and major in business.
Landys McClellan also received the 2022 Prince Epistle Award given to the graduating senior who, in the opinion of the faculty, best represents what PACS values more than anything else – a Christ-like spirit that manifests itself in a desire to grow in the Lord and serve others for the glory of God. Prince Director of Campus Life Nick Wilbur explains that it is abundantly clear that Landys embodies the Biblical “fruits of the spirit” listed in Galatians 5:22-23. “Landys’s heart for her peers and her community embodies how Christians ought to be living out the Gospel in everyday life.”
