Prince Track and Field Team Brings Home State Medals
The Wolverine Track and Field Team had a record-setting season with many area and state accolades.
The Wolverines had 14 individual competitors who qualified for state events (meaning they are in the top 16 for their events in the state). In addition, the runners also had four boys and four girls relay teams who qualified for state competition.
The GHSA State Track Meet was held at Barron Stadium in Rome on May 11th – 13th.
Prince brought home five track state champions.
- The Boys 4×200 and 4×400 – Trey Bennett, Josh Britt, Robbie Bennett, and Luke Darling won gold. They broke the school record in each race.
- Audrey Vandagriff had an outstanding state meet winning gold in the 100 and 200. She broke her own school record in the 200 with a time of 24.98.
Other honorable mentions from the state meet:
- Christian Garrett: 2nd place in the shot put.
- Girls 4×200: 3rd place – Maggie Ross, Dachelle Lucas, Aidan Washington, Audrey Vandagriff
- Girls 4×100 4th place – Maggie Ross, Dachelle Lucas, Aidan Washington, Audrey Vandagriff
- Josh Britt: 4th place in the 400m.
- Emily Lalaian: 5th place in the disc
- Robert Skaggs: 7th place in the high jump
- Aidan Washington: 7th place in the 300m hurdles
- Luke Darling: 7th place in the 100m
