Dunn Selected as Finalist for Governor’s Honors Program
Prince Avenue Christian School is proud to announce that junior Jenifer Dunn has been chosen as a finalist for the 2024 Georgia Governor’s Honors Program (GHP) in the area of music with a concentration in flute performance.
Jenifer is the daughter of Jackie and James Dunn and has attended Prince for nine years. Jenifer is in the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Interact Club, Thespian Society, and Tri-M Society. She is active in the Prince Concert, Pep, and Jazz Bands and serves as an intern to the Prince band director where she helps teach beginner band students both during school hours and in private lessons. Jenifer is also in Barnabas, Academic Team, and Announcements Team and has previously participated in Chess Club, Performing Arts, and Varsity Soccer.
Jenifer was nominated for GHP by Prince Director of Bands Gerald Dailey and has the distinction of being the first Prince Avenue student be selected as a finalist for the highly competitive program. Mr. Dailey describes Jenifer as one of the most dedicated students he has ever taught. “I am excited, yet not surprised, that Jenifer was chosen as a GHP Finalist. She is a shining light in the band program and at Prince Avenue as a whole.”
Jenifer says that she is still in disbelief that she was selected for GHP. “I’m so thankful for this opportunity that God has given me. I am most looking forward to making new friends, growing in my musical ability, and sharing the love of God with all those around me.”
GHP is a four-week residential summer program that offers instruction designed to provide rising juniors and seniors with the academic, cultural, and social enrichment necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders. This year’s program will be held on the campus of Georgia Southern University.
