Edmonds Named Prince STAR Student
Senior Preston Edmonds has been named the 2025 STAR Student for Prince Avenue Christian School, scoring the highest in one sitting of the SAT test for the senior class. Preston selected high school English teacher Elizabeth Sadler as his STAR Teacher.
Preston is the son of Erica and Richie Edmonds and has attended Prince for four years. He is a member of the National Honor Society, National Beta Club, Interact Club, and Tri-M and has received the Wolverine Scholar Award for the highest standardized test scores each year of his high school career. Preston is a Commended Scholar for the National Merit Association and has received the University of Georgia Certificate of Merit and Presidential Leadership Scholarship.
Preston is a member of the Prince Band, Varsity Swimming Team, High School Academic Team, Yearbook, and Media Communications Club. He attends Bethlehem Church and volunteers as a tutor for Schoolhouse, a non-profit organization that provides free peer-to-peer tutoring.
Preston explains that he chose Ms. Sadler as his STAR Teacher out of admiration for her love of literature and people. “Ms. Sadler has taught me how literature can reveal God’s nature and connect us to each other. She prepares her students for success beyond high school.”
Ms. Sadler is in her 16th year of teaching with nine of those having been at Prince. She explains that Preston is intellectually curious and asks questions that drive deep classroom discussions. “Preston’s passions for literature and love of the written word extend beyond the classroom where he also helps lead our yearbook, announcements, and academic team. Students like Preston help make Prince a fun, enriching place to be for both students and faculty alike.”
Upon graduation, Preston plans to study international affairs and Spanish at the University of Georgia.
