Prince Tennis Sweeps Region 8-AA Championships
The Prince Avenue Christian School varsity girls and boys tennis teams both captured the 2026 Region 8-AA Championship titles, completing an impressive sweep against Hebron Christian.
The Lady Wolverines secured a decisive 3-0 victory. Isabella Luce (#1 singles) and Sophia Luce (#2 singles) each won in straight sets, while the #1 doubles team of Maisie Davis and Ella Thomas clinched the match with another straight-set win.
The Wolverines boys team followed with a strong 3-1 victory. The doubles teams of Jackson Coulter / Silas Campbell (#1 doubles) and Coleman Ficken / Cannon Kirkland (#2 doubles) both earned straight-set wins. Shepherd Flynt (#2 singles) sealed the championship with a thrilling third-set tiebreaker.
Head Coach Elizabeth Sadler praised both teams for rising to the occasion against a strong Hebron squad.
“They stepped up and locked in, knowing both matches could have gone either way. They played some of the best tennis I have seen all season.”
Coach Sadler also emphasized the character displayed by her players:
“Before the match, we talked about staying positive and shining the light of Christ on the court, and I couldn’t be more proud of how this team has carried themselves both on and off the court.”
With both teams claiming region titles, Prince tennis continues to demonstrate excellence not only in competition but in sportsmanship and character.
