Prince Honors Retirees for the 2025-2026 School Year

Five Prince Avenue Christian School faculty and administration members are retiring after many years of service to Prince and were recently honored during the Prince Recognition Day ceremony. The Prince community has been blessed by their service and is grateful for their significant contributions to the life of the school.
High School history department chair and teacher Karen Barrett is retiring after eight years of service to Prince. Mrs. Barrett is a graduate of the University of Georgia and has 27 years of experience in education, including prior service at Loganville High School, Monroe Area High School, and George Walton Academy. While at Prince, she has taught several Advanced Placement courses while faithfully investing in students. Mrs. Barret is married to Kevin, and they have two children and five grandchildren.
Lower School Principal Becky Callaway is retiring after 12 years of service to Prince. Mrs. Callaway is a Double Dawg graduate of the University of Georgia with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education and has spent a total of 43 years in education: 18 years as a classroom teacher in both public and independent Christian schools, and 25 years in administration of independent Christian Schools. Mrs. Callaway’s contributions to the growth and strengthening of Prince lower school programs, as well as her leadership in faith, will have a lasting impact on the character, values, and spiritual culture of the Prince lower school community. Mrs. Callaway is married to Sandy, and they have three children and 12 grandchildren.
Lower school science teacher Jerry Taylor is retiring after four years of service to Prince. Mr. Taylor is a graduate of the University of Georgia and has devoted 40 years to education, having spent 30 years in public education as an agriculture teacher and FFA director, followed by 10 years in independent Christian school education. Mr. Taylor was recently inducted into the State of Georgia’s Agricultural Education Hall of Fame, dedicated to outstanding educators who have served in the field of agriculture. Mr. Taylor is married to Jackie, and they have three children and one grandchild.
Educational Student Support tutor Tracey Weaver is retiring after 11 years of service to Prince. Mrs. Weaver is a graduate of the Missouri University of Science and Technology. Before entering education, Mrs. Weaver had a successful career as an engineer and consultant. She has served Prince as a math tutor in the Educational Student Support Center, where she has had a significant and meaningful impact on the lives of many students. Mrs. Weaver is married to Chris, and they have two children.
Lower school teacher Helen Zeagler is retiring after 11 years of service to Prince. She is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and has 25 years of experience in education, having spent 14 years in public school classrooms before joining Prince. Mrs. Zeagler is known for her servant’s heart and positive attitude, as well as her attentiveness to the individual needs of her students. Mrs. Zeager has four children and nine grandchildren.
