Taylor Inducted Into Georgia Agricultural Education Hall of Fame
Prince lower school science teacher Jerry Taylor was recently inducted into the Georgia Agricultural Education Hall of Fame. This lifetime achievement award honors outstanding educators who have dedicated their careers to serving Georgia’s youth and adults through agricultural education.
Mr. Taylor recently retired from Prince Avenue Christian School after a distinguished 40-year teaching career. More than 20 of those years were spent in Madison County with the final four years of his career at Prince. He also served as a North Region Forestry Teacher and Future Farmers of America (FFA) Director for Georgia Agricultural Education.
In his four decades in agricultural education, Mr. Taylor mentored hundreds of students, helping many earn the State FFA Degree and American FFA Degree while developing award-winning teams in a variety of agricultural competitions.
Mr. Taylor explains that his love for agriculture helped him overcome a fear of public speaking. “I quickly found that I love teaching and doing hands-on learning. I also love seeing students get excited about learning.”
Lower school principal Becky Callaway says it has been a privilege to have Mr. Taylor conclude his distinguished career at Prince. “It is not unusual to see our lower school science students around campus completing lessons with Mr. Taylor that allow them to experience science in the real world. He will be greatly missed at Prince.”
Mr. Taylor was recognized during the 98th Georgia FFA State Convention, held in Macon, Georgia, in April 2026.
