Barnett and Milner Make School History at National Bass Fishing Championship
Porter Barnett and Sage Milner (Class of 2025) made school history this summer as the first Prince Avenue Christian School students to compete on the national stage in bass fishing. After earning a 6th-place finish at the GHSA State Championship in May, the duo advanced to the 2025 High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship held June 24–28 on Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees in Grove, Oklahoma. Competing against more than 400 of the best high school teams from across the country, Porter and Sage landed a three-day total of six fish weighing 20 lbs 3 oz, finishing 48th overall in their division. Their strong showing in a highly competitive field marks a milestone achievement for the Wolverines’ bass fishing program.
