Significant changes to the ACT are set to roll out in the spring of 2025. Our friends at Five Points Prep have summarized the changes…here’s what you need to know about the upcoming changes to the ACT:
Streamlined Testing Experience
- Reduced Number of Questions: The ACT will have 44 fewer questions, shortening the test from 195 minutes to just 125 minutes.
- More Time Per Question: With fewer questions, students will have more time to think through each one, reducing the pressure and enhancing performance.
- Simplified Math Section: The number of answer choices in the math section will be reduced from five to four, streamlining decision-making.
Enhanced Flexibility
- Optional Science Section: Students can now choose whether to include the Science section based on their academic strengths and college goals.
- Adaptable Testing Modes: The ACT will continue to be available both online and on paper, accommodating different preferences and ensuring comfort.
Tailored Score Reports
- Science and STEM Scores: For those opting to take the Science section, the score report will now include a dedicated Science score and a STEM score, highlighting capabilities in these crucial areas.
