Oconee Pilot Scholarship for Seniors ~ Deadline January 9
The Georgia Pilot Foundation will award up to three $1,500 scholarships for outstanding community volunteer service to a graduating senior within the Georgia District. Students must be sponsored by a Georgia District Pilot Club. Pilot Clubs within the Georgia District that do not sponsor an Anchor Club are eligible to submit one application per Pilot Club for the Lynda Goodwin Youth Volunteer Scholarship.
Requirements – The applicant must:
1) Be a graduating senior from an accredited Georgia High
School and have a minimum of a 3.0 or B academic average.
2) Plan to attend an accredited college.
3) Live in or attend an accredited high school in the county of the Georgia District Pilot Club sponsoring the applicant.
4) Submit a completed application by January 9, 2024
Complete applications should include:
1) Attached application signed by student
2) 150 to 200 word Essay on the student’s volunteer experience
3) Official High School grade transcript
4) Two letters of recommendation from a teacher, school counselor, clergyman, employer, scout leader or community leader who has knowledge of the applicant’s volunteer activities
Students should have applications completed and returned to be picked up by the Oconee County Pilot Club representative on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from the counselor’s office. No applications will be accepted late.
