Junior Rebekah Haynes Advances to State Finals in Track and Field

The Prince Avenue Christian School Track and Field team recently competed in the GHSA Area 2 Qualifying Meet held at Athens Academy.  During that meet, PACS junior Rebekah Haynes had great success in her events.

Rebekah ran the 100M dash in 12.53 seconds which earned second place in the Area. That time was a personal record and also qualified her for the Sectional Meet.  Rebekah also ran in the 200M dash and finished in 3rd place which qualified her for the Sectional Meet as well. Her time in the 200M dash was 26.65 seconds which was a personal best as well.

On Saturday, April 29th, Rebekah competed in the 100M and 200M dash at the GHSA 1-A Private Sectional Meet held at Landmark Christian. In her first event of the day, the 100M, she ran a 12.77 which qualified her for the State Finals in that event this Saturday in Rome.

In her second event, the 200M, Rebekah ran a 25.68 which qualified her for the finals of that event in State Finals as well.

Coach Josh Dillard expresses his pride in Rebekah’s accomplishments in Track and Field.  “Competing in both of these events is a significant accomplishment at this level of competition, and it shows the hard work Rebekah puts into this sport year-round.”
