Prince Avenue Students Celebrate Homecoming
Prince Avenue Christian School’s annual Spirit Week and Homecoming will begin on Monday, September 21st, and the Wolverine cheerleaders have planned a number of activities to boost school spirit and involve students of all ages. The 2015 celebration will conclude with the varsity football game against Hebron on Friday, September 25th.
High School students have voted on Homecoming Court representatives. Criteria for selection included the “fruit” of the Spirit as listed in Galatians 5:22-23. Students were asked to consider: Do these students have a genuine walk with the Lord? Does their social media honor God? Are they striving to please Christ above all else? Are they involved in school activities, and do they proudly support all things Prince Avenue?
Representing the ninth grade are Lilli Renn and Trace Jeffers. Sophomore representatives are Emma Taylor and Harrison Jump, while the juniors elected are Isabelle Renn and Jared Gilstrap. Senior representatives include Hazel Cortese, Mary Martin Harper, Abby Hathaway, Madeline Jackson, Gracie Renn, Tyler Breedlove, Christopher Chittom, Rob Kraeling, Duncan Taylor, and Zachary Ware. High school students will elect Mr. and Miss PACS from the senior representatives.
Students are encouraged to dress up according to the theme of the day during Spirit Week. This year the Wolverines are on a Road Trip with the following themes: ‘Merica Monday, Tacky Traveler Tuesday, Western Wednesday, Twin City Thursday, and Wolverine Pride Friday. Please remember that modesty is imperative when designing costumes.
Middle and High School students will have fun and express their creativity in the annual banner, cheer, and hall decorating contests. In addition, classes are working hard to prepare a creative skit to remind the Wolverine nation that we will dominate the Lions on Friday.
All Prince families are invited to the annual Block Party on Prince Avenue (the road between the school building and athletic complex) from 6:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, September 24th. Free pizza and drinks will be served. The Wolverine Growl family pep rally led by the Wolverine cheerleaders will follow in the gym at 7:00 pm. Classes will perform their skits, and Mr. PACS will be announced.
During halftime of the game on Friday evening, Miss PACS will be announced.
