State Champion Softball Coach Named Wolverine Assistant
Joining the Wolverine Softball staff as assistant coach is 2009 Southern-Crescent Coach of the Year Lacy McClendon. McClendon, who will assist Wolverine Head Coach Theresa Bettis, was head varsity softball coach last year at state Class A champion Eagles Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, Georgia. From 2004-2008 she served as Head Coach for Henry County Middle School, winning the MMSAL championship in 2004.
Coach McClendon says she and her husband had been wanting to return to the Athens area, and when the opportunity to join the Wolverine staff came. she was thrilled to accept the position.
A graduate of the University of Georgia, Coach McClendon will teach girls middle and high school physical education and health.
“We are blessed to have Lacy McClendon on staff as a teacher and coach at Prince. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, including a state championship, with her, in addition to a special dedication and faithfulness to her family and profession” says head coach Theresa Bettis.
