Empty Bowls Feed the Hungry
The National Art Honor Society is organizing a service project called Empty Bowls to raise awareness of hunger in the community. Students will sell handmade bowls, each filled with contents based on a “theme” (Menchies bowl, Starbucks bowl, etc.). All proceeds will go to Athens-Clarke County overflow shelter, A Bigger Vision.
Bowls will be on display beginning Monday, January 23, in the main entrance hall of the school. On Thursday, NAHS students will add the goodies to their bowls that coordinate with the overall theme of the bowls (UGA, PACS, Menchies, Starbucks, Chick-Fil-A, Barberitos, and many more!).
A silent auction will begin on Friday morning at 8:00 am, and be open for bids until noon. Bowls will go to the highest bidder (serious bids only, please!). The bowls will have various minimum bids, depending on the size of the bowl. Winners will receive an email with payment and pickup details.
