Prince Avenue Christian School students are ready to show their school spirit September 17-21, with a full week of activities scheduled to celebrate Homecoming 2021! This year’s theme is “Wolverines…We are Family!”
The varsity cheerleaders have planned a fun-filled week of special dress up days and spirit contests to generate enthusiasm and excitement for the football team's game against Glascock County on Friday, September 21. The annual Pre-Growl Block Party and Wolverine Growl pep rally on Thursday provides an opportunity for Prince families and alumni to join in the festivities.
All Prince Avenue families and friends are welcome to come to the annual Block Party on Thursday, September 20 from 6:00 – 7:15 for free pizza and fellowship on “Prince Avenue” (the road that cuts through our campus). Please bring sidewalk chalk to decorate this street to show Wolverine Spirit! The Wolverine Growl Pep Rally follows the block party, beginning at 7:30 pm in the Wolverine Gymnasium. (Please enter the campus from Ruth Jackson Road, and park in the school parking lots. We need to leave the church parking spaces open for a church women's ministry event.)
All students, from pre-kindergarten to the twelfth grades, are encouraged to participate in the Homecoming Dress-up Days. (For all dress up days…if you are not dressed appropriately and modestly you will have to change into something else.) And as always, for the entire week remember the too rule – not too tight, not too loose, not too long, and not too short! The dress-up days are as follows:
Monday: “The Flintstone Family from Bedrock” Be a modern Stone Age family from a page right out of history. Dress as Pebbles, Bam Bam, Fred or Wilma and wear your caveman and animal prints! You can even be Dino and dress as a dinosaur. Yell for the Wolverines…Yabba, Dabba, Do!
Tuesday: “The Capulet Family from Romeo and Juliet” Wolverines, Wolverines…where for art thou Wolverines?” Hark, who goes there? Wolverines dressed in medieval finery such as royal princesses, kings, queens, jesters, knights, fair maidens and peasants. Does thou knowest the time?….It’s time for VICTORY!
Wednesday: “The Tanner Family from Full House” What ever happened to predictability? The milkman, the paperboy, evening TV….” DJ, Steph and Michelle will expect all Wolverines to wear their wind suits, 90’s clothes, neon clothing, sweaters and hair gel. “Have mercy,” we are fired up to Beat the Panthers…“You got it dude!”
Thursday: “The Robertson Family from Duck Dynasty” Wearing “hey, homie don’t play that!” Si says. it’s time bring out your duck calls, boots, camouflage, bandanas, or even wear your apron like Miss Kay! Leave the weapons at home and come to school ready to Pummel the Panthers….”You got that right, Jack!”
Friday: “The Wolverine Family from Prince Avenue”
These are just suggestions; students can be creative and come up with other ideas, but please stick to the theme. For all dress up days…if you are not dressed appropriately and modestly you will have to change into something else. Costumes may include knee length shorts or leggings under shorts. Absolutely NO short shorts or strapless dresses, etc. On Friday, which is normal spirit day, students can wear shorts, but they must be Lands’ End uniform shorts. And as always, for the entire week remember the too rule – not too tight, not too loose, not too long, and not too short!
