Students Participate in Honor Band
Five band students from Prince Avenue Christian School performed recently in the Reinhardt
University Honor Band. The honor band rehearsed and performed on the campus of Reinhardt
University in Waleska. Students from throughout northeast Georgia were selected for the band
based on their band director’s recommendation and their honors and accomplishments in
band.
Students , selected by Prince Avenue band director Miles Adams, who participated from Prince Avenue Christian School were Kristian Knowles – clarinet, Madeline Jackson – saxophone, Monica Walcott -saxophone, Jon Conrad – bassoon, and Seth Lashley – trumpet.
The students were conducted by internationally acclaimed composer and conductor Mark Camphouse. Professor Camphouse serves as Director of the School of Music at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA where he teaches conducting and composition. He has 28 published works for band, many of which have been performed by some of the world’s leading professional bands including the Northshore Concert Band and the United States Marine Band.
