Second Grade Students Looking for "Books for Keeps" Donations
Second grade students in Mrs. Shona Foster's class are seeking donations of new and gently used books to give to the “Books For Keeps” program. This organization places books into the hands of young students whose access to reading material is limited. All year long this organization collects, inspects and sorts books to give them away each May. Any book that is not used is sold at their annual BFK book sale each August.
Last year, Prince Avenue Christian School families donated more than 1,000 books. So far this year, more than 250 books have already been contributed to the third graders' project.
Mrs. Foster says, “I know many of us will be “spring cleaning” over the next month as we get ready for summer break. This will be a great time to sort through your books at home and donate them.”
Books can be dropped off in the front office or in Mrs. Foster's classroom (Rm 314).
Will Smith, Payton Cromer, David Eley, and Elisabeth Breedlove are among the students helping with the ministry project.
