Prince Avenue Drama Places 4th in Region 8A One Act Competition
The Prince Avenue Christian School Fine Arts Program had a strong showing in the Region 8A One-Act Competition with the high school production of Harvey.
“Harvey”, written by American playwright Mary Chase, tells the story of Elwood P. Dowd, an eccentric middle-aged man whose best friend is a six-foot three and a half inch invisible rabbit named Harvey. Dowd will be played by senior Luke Wallace. Harvey will play himself.
The supporting cast included seniors Rachel Adams as Veta Louise Simmons and Josh Whalen as Dr. William R. Chumley, junior Will Adams as Duane Wilson, sophomores Cailyn Bloodworth as Betty Chumley, Robert West as Judge Omar Gaffney, Alex Harding as Dr. Lyman Sanderson, Macy Frazier as Nurse Ruth Kelly, Hannah Payne as the Cabbie, and freshmen Sara Thompson as Ethel Chauvenet and Mary Grace Palmer as Myrtle Mae Simmons. The show was directed by drama teacher Joe Strickland. The stage manager was junior Joy Harris, and the assistant stage manager was Sammi Richt.
Rachel Adams received Best Actress while Luke Wallace and Alex Harding both won All Star Cast. PACS Drama placed 4th place overall in the region.
