Spiritual Emphasis Week, August 17- 19
Prince Avenue Christian School will observe Spiritual Emphasis Week on Monday, August 17 – Wednesday, August 19. Each morning from 9 :00 – 10:15 am, middle school and high school students will gather in the Prince Avenue Worship Center for a time of praise and worship lead by Prince Avenue Alumnus, David Richt. Following worship, a special speaker will challenge and encourage students in their spiritual walks.
Monday’s speaker is Brandon Nichols, a church planter from Kennesaw, Georgia. Tuesday’s speaker is Mark Thomas, the youth pastor at Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville, Georgia. Wednesday’s speaker is Gabe Dodd, a church planter in Dahlonega, Georgia.
Each afternoon, high school students will have a Prayer Retreat off campus with 9th grade on Monday, 10th grade on Tuesday, and 11th grade on Wednesday. These sessions will be led by SWAT Ministries and will allow students the opportunity to discuss and apply what has been taught during the morning worship time.
PACS Director of Spiritual Life, David Shivar, will send an email each day to share with parents the themes and ideas that have been taught to students that day. Parents are encouraged to apply the Spiritual Emphasis Week concepts and ideas at home by talking over the topics with their students and answering any additional questions they may have.
Parents are welcome to attend Spiritual Emphasis week and encouraged to pray for PACS students during this very important time of discipleship.
