Student Enters Congressional Art Competition
PACS sophomore Kallie Hamilton has entered a piece of artwork in The Congressional Art Competition. This competition was initiated nation-wide by members of the US House of Representatives and allows high school students to showcase their artistic abilities. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington D.C., and their artwork is displayed in a year-long exhibit at the US Capitol.
Kallie’s artwork was chosen to be entered by PACS high school art teacher Meghan Hudson. “I chose Kallie’s artwork for this competition because of her personal motivation to portray a brave marine defending our country symbolized by the flag.”
Kallie’s artwork is a three color reduction linoleum block print.
