Local Photographer, Mylinda Knittle, Lunch and Learn Speaker
Local photographer, Mylinda Knittle, was a recent special guest of the Prince Avenue Christian School Lunch and Learn program. During Lunch and Learn, PACS High School students spend their lunch time with a local professional gaining insight into his or her education and work experience.
Mylinda Knittel is the owner and founder of Spring Street Studios Fine Photography. She is also the photographer for this year’s PACS pictures. Mylinda explained to students how God guided her steps to lead her to her current life work. She spoke about how at the age of 18, she began working at Primerica as an assistant and was eventually given the opportunity to have her college paid for by the company. She attended the Art Institute of Atlanta where she attended classes at night while working full time during the day. After she graduated, Mylinda’s hard work paid off as Primerica went on to hire her as the company photographer. Mylinda spent 10 years in corporate America before moving on to the photography world. Fifteen years ago, Mylinda opened Spring Street Studios where she helps families capture the special moments in their lives.
Mylinda gave advice for students to think ahead about their educational options, and she encouraged those who may desire to be an entrepreneur to take business classes while in college. Additionally, students who want to pursue a career in photography were advised to take design and marketing classes.
Mylinda emphasized to students that photography is a passion that she has made her career. She urged students to stay focused knowing that God has a plan and purpose for their talents and passions.
