Wolverine Boys Basketball Team Volunteers in Community
Every third Wednesday during the busy basketball season, the Prince Avenue Christian School Varsity Boys Basketball team can be found participating in an activity that does not involve drills, conditioning, or shooting baskets. The boys participate in community outreach giving the team the opportunity to minister as a group to the community.
The Wolverines most recent efforts were in support of Extra Special People in Watkinsville. Coach Will Cantrell describes the unique opportunity the boys had with ESP kids. “This past time we were able to interact with the kids and play basketball with them.”
As to the significance of time spent in community outreach, Coach Cantrell explains, “It is so important for us to realize that there are other people outside of ourselves and our current circumstances and to realize that we can make an amazing impact on others. Our players were more blessed than they could have anticipated.”
