Gabe Norris Speaks to PACS Students on Topic of Fear

Gabe Norris, Co-Founder of Connect Ministries and Director of WinShape Camps for Communities, was the Prince Avenue Christian School Distinguished Speaker for Spring Semester.  Mr. Norris gave a dynamic and relevant presentation to middle and high school students on the topic of fear and not allowing fear to create a wall between oneself and God. 

Mr. Norris based his remarks on Mark 4:35-41 in which the disciples are faced with a sudden storm while Jesus sleeps in the boat.  Mr. Norris reminded students that all people at different times in their lives are faced with an array of fears.  He dynamically displayed this to students by using large crates with examples of fears written on the side.  By the end of his talk, he had built a “wall of fear”. 

Mr. Norris then explained that Jesus does not stay on the other side of the wall.  He rebukes the storm and gives believers a spirit of truth to overcome their fears. 

Mr. Norris closed with Isaiah 41:10.  “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
