Senior McKay Melnick Nominated as Scholar Athlete
Prince Avenue Christian School senior McKay Melnick was recently nominated as the PACS 2020 UGA National Football Foundation (NFF)/College Hall of Fame High School Scholar Athlete. The region school winners, along with their principals, head coaches, and families will attend a dinner to be held in April.
The NFF’s initiative honors the top high school scholar-athletes from around the country as the best and the brightest at the local level and are recognized for their academic, football, and community accomplishments during their high school careers.
McKay is the son of Robert and Kim Melnick. He has lettered in Varsity Football for four years with the last two of those years played at Prince Avenue. In 2018 and 2019 he was selected as All-Region Defensive Back and helped lead the Wolverines to the state play-offs both years. McKay currently has a 4.0 GPA and will graduate from Prince Avenue with a College Prep with Distinction diploma having completed 2 AP classes and 18 semester college hours. McKay has committed to the University of South Carolina as a Preferred Walk-On.
