Prince Athletes Receive All-Region and All-State Honors

The Prince Avenue fall varsity athletic teams concluded their seasons with many team and individual accomplishments.

The Varsity Girls Cross Country team placed 2^nd in region with six runners finishing in the top 20:  senior Lizzy Coleman – 6^th, sophomore Sallie Simpkins – 12^th, sophomore Brittan McGinn – 14^th, senior Bailey Hicks – 18^th, senior Olivia Shivar – 19^th, and sophomore Kaitlyn Ward – 20^th.  These six runners have competed in the State Cross Country Meet.  Varsity Boys Cross Country runner junior Parker Houck placed 4^th in region and also competed in state competition.

The Volleyball team qualified for the state tournament, and the following athletes were recognized for All-Region honors:

The softball team placed third in region.  The Lady Wolverines then defeated the number one seed (George Walton Academy) in the state tournament and advanced to the Final Four.  They had the following All-Area and All-State honors:

The Varsity Football team won the 2020 Region 8A Championship and the GHSA Private Single A 2020 State Championship.

Head Coach Greg Vandagriff was recognized as the Region 8A “Coach of the Year”.  Senior Brock Vandagriff was selected Region 8A “Player of the Year”, and senior Davis Ridings was selected as Region 8A “Defensive Player of the Year”.
