David and Mitchell Named Semi-Finalists in Governor’s Honors Program

Prince Avenue Christian School sophomore Wade David and junior Jackson Mitchell have been named as semi-finalists in the highly competitive Georgia Governor’s Honors Program (GHP).
Wade was nominated for GHP by high school science teacher Carrie Owens in the area of biology. He was required to submit an application responding to research and essay questions. Jackson was nominated for GHP by Prince Band Director Miles Adams in the area of guitar and submitted a performance video during the application process. Both Wade and Jackson will have an additional interview before finalists are selected for the program later this spring.
GHP is a residential summer program for gifted and talented high school students who will be rising juniors and seniors during the summer. The program offers instruction that is designed to provide students with the academic, cultural, and social enrichment necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders.
