Hardin Named 2021 STAR Student
Prince Avenue senior Camille Hardin has been named the 2021 STAR Student for Prince Avenue Christian School, scoring the highest on one sitting of the SAT test this year. She selected media specialist Danny Delgado as her STAR Teacher.
Camille is the daughter of Chris and Nicki Hardin and has attended Prince for 14 years. Camille has a grade point average of 4.36, has been on the PACS Headmaster’s Honor Roll every semester, and has earned the Wolverine Gold Academian Award for highest grade point average in her class each year of high school. She is a member of the National Honors Society, Beta Club, and Interact Club. She is also a member of the Prince Band, Pep Band, and Jazz Band and has been active in PACS athletics as a Varsity Cheerleader. Camille volunteers in the Prince lower school Undercover Book Club. She attends Prince Avenue Baptist Church where she volunteers in the nursery.
When asked about her choice of STAR Teacher, Camille explains that Mr. Delgado has pointed her toward a stronger faith in God since the 4th grade. “Mr. Delgado is always enthusiastic about God and teaching. He gives 100 percent to teaching students and sacrifices his time to help students when they are stressed or need advice. He constantly encourages students to read and to live for the glory of God.”
Danny Delgado has been at Prince for all nine of his years in education. He taught 3rd and 4th grade for eight years and took on the role of media specialist this year. He also leads the Prince Undercover Book Club and Writing Team. Mr. Delgado describes Camille as an excellent student who pursues and follows Christ. “Camille is often recognized for her well-deserved academic achievements. But what I’m more impressed by is her growth as a follower of Jesus Christ. There are many students who earn outstanding test scores, are accepted into prestigious universities, and receive public accolades. However, those accomplishments are worthless if the recipient’s character is rotten. It is indeed rare to see a young woman who excels in her studies while striving in her walk with the Lord.”
Camille explains that she loves the Christian atmosphere at Prince. “There is never a day where God is not glorified at Prince Avenue. The school has provided a solid education with many fantastic teachers and advanced class options. Prince has helped me get into UGA while strengthening my faith for the future.”
Camille plans to attend the University of Georgia where she plans to become a Certified Public Accountant, pursue law school, and become a tax attorney.
