Prince Varsity Volleyball Team Receives Academic Honors

The Prince Avenue Christian School 2020-2021 Varsity Volleyball Team was recently recognized by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with the All-Academic Team Award and Team Academic Honor Roll Award.

The All American Academic Team Award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average (GPA) of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.  Additionally, the top 20% of team GPAs from each division are designated as Team Academic Honor Roll schools, representing the highest scholarly achievement in the sport.

The Lady Wolverines had an impressive 4.0 team GPA for the 2020-2021 school year.  Head Coach Morgan Garretson describes this team as special and determined.  “I am very proud of this team’s dedication to excellence and honoring the Lord in everything they do, including their academics.  This group of ladies was just as determined to succeed in the classroom as they were on the court. They understood fully that they were student-athletes first and foremost and have set a high standard of excellence for our program.”
