The Prince Avenue Christian School Media Center was recently awarded the Walton EMC School Empowerment Grant. This grant will provide funding to create an interactive learning space in the PACS Media Center. This “Think-Tank” room will host weekly library sessions with lower school classes, feature special guests presentations, exhibit useful technological tools, house breakout meetings for students and staff, and provide a makerspace for classes and clubs.
The grant was presented to Prince Media Specialist Danny Delgado, Media Assistant Karla Wooten, and Lower School Principal Becky Callaway by Kathy Ivie, Walton EMC Youth and Community Specialist, and Savannah Chandler, Walton EMC Communications Coordinator. Mrs. Chandler is also a Prince parent, and her children, 3rd-grader Rhett and 4th-grader Berkly helped with the presentation.
Walton EMC’s School Empowerment Grant program gives schools in nearby communities the chance to boost their instructional and service programs by funding worthwhile projects. The money distributed – over $2 million since the program began just six years ago – is comprised of unclaimed monies from former customers.
