Bray Selected as Rotary Student of the Semester
Prince senior Ella Bray is the Rotary Student of the Semester for Spring 2023. Prince teachers chose Ella for her demonstration of the Rotary Club motto, “Service Above Self.”
Ella is the daughter of Katie and Eric Bray and has attended Prince for 14 years. Ella is in the National Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society and serves as secretary of the Interact Club. Ella is a Prince Varsity Cheerleader, and her leadership on the team over the past few years has earned her the Rookie of the Year, Spirit for the Wolverines, Superstar, & Captain’s Award. She also participates on the Varsity Tennis team and received the MVP Doubles Award at the end of the season. She attends Watkinsville First Baptist Church and volunteers in their Vacation Bible School program.
Ella chose high school math teacher Katie Gilbert to share this honor. “Mrs. Gilbert has always been a support for me throughout high school, notably these past two years. Not only does she assist me in the classroom through learning and solving problems on my own, but she helps by giving me life advice when I need it. She truly is invested in the well-being of her students, and she desires to see them excel.”
Mrs. Gilbert explains that she is continually impressed with Ella’s incredible ability to maintain involvement in every area on campus while keeping her academic success as her highest priority. “Ella is an extremely well-rounded young lady. Beyond her success in the arts, athletics, and academics, she excels with her peers as well. As a student, Ella is a great addition to any classroom. She is a very bright student, and her presence in the classroom brings joy to those around her.”
