2023 Prince Yearbook Dedicated to Morris and Ricketts
The 2022-2023 Prince yearbook staff recently presented the 41st edition of the Koinonia to the Prince student body. This year’s Koinonia was dedicated to two Prince Avenue faculty members – Director of Fine Arts LaMurl Morris and Director of Athletics Richard Ricketts.
LaMurl Morris has been employed by Prince for 23 years. Her skill and dedication as a Christian art educator have taught hundreds of Prince students Christ-centered attributes through her teaching that emphasizes the importance of beauty and relativity, order and discipline, and social harmony as defined in the Bible. Under her leadership, the performance of Prince fine arts students has risen to a new level with the receipt of multiple awards at both the region and state levels competing against schools many times the size of Prince, which is a testimony to Mrs. Morris’s leadership, expertise, and passion for fine arts.
Richard Ricketts has been employed by Prince for more than 28 years. He has transformed a fledgling athletic program with limited facilities in downtown Athens into a state powerhouse with superb facilities that continue to expand. Through his visionary leadership and disciplined approach, Prince students now enjoy athletic programs from 2nd through 12th grades with 17 Georgia High School Association varsity sports teams who have won multiple region and state championships.
The theme of this year’s yearbook is “In Focus” inspired by 2 Corinthians 4:18, “So we fix our eyes, not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” The yearbook staff includes Whit Bahnsen, Owen Florence, Kate McLean, Becca McMurray, Ally Porter, Milan Ragbeer, and faculty advisor Morgan Garretson.
