Prince Athletes Sign to Play in College

Prince Avenue Christian School recently celebrated with six seniors who signed to play sports at the college level.

Maddox Drake signed to play golf with The University of North Georgia. Head Coach Jimmy Phillips explains that Maddox has played a large part in championship golf at Prince. “Maddox is one of the most overachieving young men I have ever coached. His determination and work ethic will ensure he has a terrific future.”

Mason Banks signed to play baseball with Belmont Abbey College. Head Coach Allen Osborne describes Mason as one of the finest pitchers around. “It is awesome to see Mason rewarded for his dedication and effort. His success is a testament of his character and will. I know that Mason will thrive at Belmont Abbey.”

Andrew Gillespie signed to play baseball with Samford University. Coach Osborne says that he is very excited for Andrew to continue his academic and athletic career as a Bulldog. “Not only is Andrew an exceptional player, but he is one of the finest young men I have had the pleasure to coach.”

Audrey Vandagriff signed to play softball at The University of Alabama. Head Coach Donnie Byrom explains that Audrey is statistically the best player in the state of Georgia with elite speed, amazing power, and exceptional sports IQ. “This year, Audrey took over the leadership role willing this team to win and refusing to lose. She is truly a special athlete.”

Ella Osborne signed to play softball with Campbell University. Coach Byrom says that Ella is a great comeback story. “After five games in her freshman year, Ella was down for knee surgery. She battled back to be amazing by her senior year. Ella has superior glove skills and is an offensive powerhouse, but she also shows great leadership on the team.”

Bailey Throckmorton signed to play softball with Southern Wesleyan University. Coach Byrom describes Bailey as a special young lady who loves her team. “Bailey threw 2,253 pitches and won 27 games, but the 56 hugs she gave after home runs are central to what she means to Prince Softball.”
