The Prince Avenue Christian School Media Center provides the students, faculty, and staff with print and non-print materials for research or the simple enjoyment of reading.
The 13,000-volume book collection is primarily from Christian publishers, but also includes classics and other secular titles. The majority of books have been read or extensively researched prior to placement in our Media Center, and the collections are divided into age-appropriate sections.
The Media Center also includes a digital collection with 820 DVD/Video resources for classroom use.

Media Center Programs
Media Center Class Visits
All lower school classes from Pre-Kindergarten to fifth grade have a scheduled time to visit the Media Center. The Media Center Director reads a story and the students check out books. Biblical truth and application are discussed with each story.
Students in the fourth and fifth grades may check out two books each week. Kindergarten through third-grade students are allowed to check one book each week. If any student finishes reading a book before their next scheduled library time, he or she may exchange it for another book title.
Students are taught the Dewey Decimal classification system, different genres of literature, research techniques, basic book care, and an introduction to the reference materials available in the Media Center.
Book Fairs
The Media Center hosts two book fairs each year, usually in November and late April or early May. The purpose of the book fairs is to earn funds to purchase new books for the Media Center collection. In the spring, the book fair generally includes titles on the Prince Avenue Christian School Summer Reading List.
Prince Media Center Selection Policy
