Scholarship Opportunity

Winterville Civitan College Scholarship…

The Winterville Civitan Club is once again pleased to offer the Howard Parrish Memorial Scholarship to assist a deserving student from the Winterville area in attending the university or college of his or her choice.  The amount of the scholarship grant will be $3,000; payable in installments to the university or college during the first year the student is enrolled.

Applicants must meet the criteria listed below and submit their complete application packet to the address on the letterhead, postmarked by Friday, April 14, 2017.  All applicants will be notified of a decision by Friday, April 21, 2017, and the formal presentation to the winner will be made at the regular dinner meeting of the club on Thursday, April 27, 2017.

Criteria to be eligible for the scholarship:

1. Have a Winterville mailing address, a Winterville telephone number, or some other established affiliation with the Winterville community.

2. Be reasonably assured of graduating from high school by June 2017.

3. Plan to enroll in a recognized university or college by fall of 2017.

4. Submit the application to the club, along with the specified supplementary materials.

Selection criteria, in addition to the above, will include scholarship, school and community contributions, financial need, and motivation.
