The safety of students, faculty, and staff is the top priority at Prince Avenue Christian School The following safety protocols have been employed to ensure the safety of our campus:
- PACS recently completed a thorough, three-day campus security threat assessment by Tomahawk Strategic Solutions, which specializes in private-sector security.
- PACS utilizes the Centegix Visitor Management System to conduct instant background checks on all visitors, and all faculty and staff are equipped with Centegiex Security Badges that facilitate instant internal and external communication with administrative leadership and the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office should anyone detect a threat on campus.
- PACS has dozens of security cameras throughout its campus that provide real-time and historical video imagery accessible 24/7 via smartphone and desktop workstation by all its administrators and the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.
- PACS employs an armed security manager and has an armed intruder response team.
- PACS conducts four lockdown drills a year; each semester it conducts one announced and one unannounced drill. When performing drills, the school is evaluated by members of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office to provide an objective, third-party evaluation of its performance. After every lockdown drill, the school’s administrative leadership team and the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office conduct a joint after-action meeting to identify strengths and areas requiring improvement.
PACS is blessed to be located in a low-crime county with quality law enforcement officers; however, we are diligent in preparing for a day we pray will never happen.
