Substitute Teacher


In the absence of the classroom teacher, the substitute teacher provides instruction, encourages students’ progress, and manages the learning environment in accordance with the goals and directives of the school.  


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement existing lesson plans in a manner that ensures consistency and encourages student participation
  • Maintain a well-managed classroom that fosters a safe and positive teaching and learning environment
  • Assign classwork and homework to students in accordance with lesson plans
  • Ensure adequate supervision of students
  • If necessary, supervise students in areas outside of the classroom (chapel, cafeteria, playground, etc.)



  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • A committed Christian who is active in an evangelical church ministry
  • Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with faculty/staff and students
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Must successfully complete a background check

Information Technology:

IT Support Specialist - Part Time

Prince Avenue Christian School is currently accepting applications for a part-time position of IT Support Specialist. (up to 20 hours per week). This position will begin work in January 2019



The primary function of this position is to provide end-user technical support to faculty, staff, and students.


Primary Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Director of Technology, all the IT Staff work together to provide both user and organization technical support. The IT Support Specialist will focus on all end-user and classroom device support, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. The goal is for every support request to be successfully resolved as quickly as possible or a temporary solution put in place while the permanent solution or repair is being processed.


Common duties include but are not limited to:

  • Hardware and software troubleshooting on all school-issued end-user devices.
  •  SMARTBoard connectivity and calibration.
  • Projector troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Manage the repair process for all school-issued end-user devices
  • Management, configuration, troubleshooting and deployment of school-issued end-user devices.
  • Seasonal duties at the beginning and ending of the school year.



  • A committed Christian who is active in an evangelical church ministry.
  • A strong background in technology and experience with end-user support.
  • The ability to communicate technical information in an easy to understand and non-threatening manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with exceptional oral and written communication skills.

  • Aptitude for independent problem solving of technology related issues.

Admissions Counselor


Job Title: Admissions Counselor

Prince Avenue Christian School (PACS) is a ministry of Prince Avenue Baptist Church (PABC), and the faculty and staff’s conduct reflects on the church and school. Therefore, this employee agrees to conduct herself or himself in a Godly manner at all times and be under the authority of the school administration and PABC and abide by the policies and statement of faith thereof.   



This is a specialized, professional position facilitating the recruitment of PACS students.     



  • Develop a network of contacts within the existing PACS parent pool, extended families and friends of PACS, and the local community to identify prospects for admission. 
  • Aid in developing marketing and recruitment strategies for PACS to include interfacing with the school’s staff and faculty.   
  • Aid the admissions director in designing marketing materials and literature and distribute them to network contacts and prospective parents of PACS.   
  • Schedule and conduct campus tours. 
  • Schedule and coordinate student shadows.
  • Work with prospective families to assure applications and required forms are completed and submitted in timely manner. 
  • Operate within departmental budgetary guidelines and coordinate with admissions director for financial aid inquiries from prospective families.     
  • Coordinate with the PACS business office to ensure tuition, incidentals, and other fiscal matters are thoroughly discussed with prospective parents. 
  • Develop, implement, and manage a new family welcome program to include coordinating with current parents to provide a support network for new families.   
  • Provide information in response to data calls for admissions recruitment information (inquiries, tours, shadows, applications, acceptances, conversion rate, etcetera).   
  • Schedule and coordinate new student entrance testing.  
  • Performance evaluation includes specific expectations regarding the number of students to be enrolled during the contract period through the use of a network of contacts. Performance will be reviewed periodically through conferences and written reports.  
  • Receive assignments verbally, in writing, and in electronic form with considerable latitude for determining methods and procedures to accomplish objectives.   
  • Perform work independently with limited supervision by the admissions director. 



  • A committed Christian who is active in an evangelical church ministry.  
  • Bachelor's degree.  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, students, coworkers, and the general public regardless of race, age, sex, disability or political affiliation. 
  • Be competent in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.  
  • Graphic design experience preferred but not required.  


School Bus Drivers
