Prince Avenue Christian School is currently hiring for the following positions for the 2018-2019 school year:

Education Support Services:

Tutor

Prince Avenue Christian School is currently accepting applications for a position of Tutor in the Education Support Services Center. This is a part-time position. The schedule will be various hours five days a week, not to exceed 30 hours per week.

 

Overview:

The primary function of this position is to tutor students primarily in high school mathematics. Ideal applicants will be well-versed in all subject areas in grades 6-8.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with the ESS Director, and assist students who need additional instruction in academic classes.
  • Schedule tutoring schedules for the students assigned at various times so that academic instructional time is not missed.
  • Use best practices to tutor students in a manner that develop habits and skills for students to become independent learners.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on student work.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • All faculty and staff are expected to play a formative role in the spiritual lives of students. This includes integration of a biblical worldview into their subject matter and lessons.

 

Qualifications:

  • A committed Christian who is active in an evangelical church ministry.
  • Bachelors or higher degree.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  •  Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Lower School:

Lower School Art Teacher (part-time)

Prince Avenue Christian School is currently accepting applications for a part-time position of Lower School Art Teacher.

 

Overview: The primary function of this position is to teach art to Pre-K to 5th-grade students.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the fine arts director, lower school principal, and academic dean to prepare course syllabus and curriculum for lower school art classes.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Develop a rapport with students that motivates and fosters enthusiasm for the arts.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on student work.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress, rehearsals, and productions.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • All faculty and staff are expected to play a formative role in the spiritual lives of students. This includes integration of a biblical worldview into their subject matter and lessons.

 

Qualifications: 

  • A committed Christian who is active in an evangelical church ministry.
  • Bachelors or higher degree in art is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.Successful experience in teaching visual art to students.
  • Willingness to work with students after school, evenings, or weekends as needed.
  • Organized with ability to plan for and meet deadlines, attention to detail, and be self-directed.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work with staff, parents, administration, and community.

School Bus Drivers
