Col Seth Hathaway
Dr. Hathaway is in his fourteenth year at Prince and eleventh as head of school. Under his leadership, the school has completed two strategic plans, including PACS 2030, and Prince has been voted Athens’ “Best Private School” for five years. Some of his achievements include employing the most “Master Teachers” among the 163 Georgia Independent Association Schools and completing several capital campaign projects, including a new middle school building and a competition gymnasium, as well as expanded athletic facilities with fourteen additional acres. Under his leadership, multimillion-dollar renovations to the library, cafeteria, school offices, and bus fleet have been completed. Prince students have also earned ten Georgia High School Athletic Association championships (not private, but the more competitive public-school association), and multiple Fine Arts awards over the past five years. The school is on a sharp, upward trajectory on many fronts.
Colonel Hathaway holds a doctorate in educational leadership, is a former Marine Corps officer with over 20 years of leadership experience, and chairs academic accreditation teams for both the Southern Association of Independent Schools and the Association of Christian Schools International. He and his wife, Tracy, educated their three children in Christian schools.
