Col Seth Hathaway

Dr. Hathaway is in his fourteenth year at Prince Avenue Christian School and his eleventh as head of school. Under his leadership, the school has completed two comprehensive strategic plans, including PACS 2030, and has been recognized as Athens’ “Best Private School” for five years. With a firm belief in the transformative impact of exceptional teaching, Dr. Hathaway has led the initiative to employ more “Master Teachers” than any of the 163 member schools in the Georgia Independent School Association. His tenure has also seen the successful completion of capital campaigns that have funded multimillion-dollar facilities, significant campus renovations, and acreage expansion. Prince continues on a strong upward trajectory on many fronts, including multiple state and regional championships in athletics and fine arts within the competitive Georgia High School Association (GHSA).

Before becoming head of school, Dr. Hathaway served as an assistant head of school, high school principal, and classroom teacher. Prior to his career in education, Colonel Hathaway served more than twenty years in the armed forces leading Marines in operations and deployments around the world. He and his wife, Tracy, raised their three children in Christian schools.
